Our Story
Grandma's Way
Made with Love. Seasoned with Tradition.
Every family has a story. Ours is told through flavor.
A Taste of Home. A Legacy of Love.
Grandma's Way was inspired by something that has always been at the heart of Caribbean life: family, food, tradition, and the memories we create around the table.
Rooted in the rich culinary heritage of Trinidad & Tobago, Grandma's Way is more than a seasoning and pepper sauce brand. It is a celebration of where we come from, the people who shaped us, and the traditions we carry forward.
For us, food has never been just about eating. It is about gathering. It is about the aroma of fresh herbs being blended, peppers being prepared, pots simmering on the stove, and the anticipation of a meal that brings everyone together. It is the laughter in the kitchen, the excitement of the holidays, and the familiar taste that can take you straight back home, no matter how far away life takes you.
These are the memories that inspired Grandma's Way.

The Flavors of Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹
Trinidad & Tobago is a place where cultures, traditions, and flavors come together to create something truly special. Our food tells a story influenced by African, Indian, Indigenous, European, Chinese, and other cultural traditions that have helped shape our islands.
From the bold heat of Scotch bonnet and other Caribbean peppers to the freshness of chadon beni, thyme, garlic, chives, and onions, every ingredient has a purpose.
And then there are the holidays. Christmas brings the excitement of preparing favorite dishes, sharing food with loved ones, and filling the home with familiar aromas. Divali, Eid, Carnival, Easter, and other celebrations bring their own traditions, flavors, and opportunities to gather.
These flavors are more than ingredients. They are memories, identity, culture, and home.
Grandma's Kitchen: Where the Magic Began
Some of the best recipes are never written down.
They are learned by watching, listening, tasting, and helping in the kitchen. They live in the hands of the people who came before us and in the little things they taught us without even realizing it.
When we think about Grandma, we think about those special moments when cooking was an experience rather than a set of instructions. A pinch of this, a handful of that, another little taste, and somehow everything came together just right.
And if you asked how much seasoning to add, you might not get a measurement at all. You might get a look, a laugh, or a simple reminder to trust your hands and taste your food.
A Little Help From Our Ancestors 😂❤️
Let's be honest: not every great Caribbean cook has a written recipe!
Sometimes the secret is in the seasoning. Sometimes it is in the timing. And sometimes, when everything tastes just right, you simply know it is time to stop. From my grandmother to my Aunty Lana, to Aunty Susan where I witnessed it first hand all the love and tradition in a pot every Sunday and Christmas when it was a huge event.
We like to think Grandma and our ancestors are still in the kitchen with us, giving us a little guidance along the way.
A little more garlic? Maybe. Another pepper? Depends on who's eating! One more taste? Absolutely.
No complicated instructions. No unnecessary fuss. Just good seasoning, good food, and a little ancestral guidance when you need to know when to stop!
The Villafana Family: Passing the Flavor Forward
Grandma's Way is also about family and the legacy we hope to leave behind.
As the Villafana family, we want our children to understand that our heritage is something to be celebrated, protected, and shared. We want them to experience the stories behind the food, learn the traditions that shaped our family, and create their own memories around the table.
Our children are part of the reason this legacy matters. Every meal is an opportunity to teach, every family gathering is a chance to connect, and every tradition we pass down helps keep our history alive.
From Our Family Kitchen to Yours
Today, Grandma's Way brings together our love of Caribbean food, our appreciation for Trinidad & Tobago's culinary heritage, and our desire to share those flavors with others.
From green seasoning and all-purpose blends to bold pepper sauces, our goal is to make it easier for families to bring authentic Caribbean-inspired flavor into their own kitchens.
Whether you grew up in the Caribbean and miss the taste of home, discovered Trinidadian food through someone you love, or are exploring Caribbean cooking for the first time, there is a place for you at our table.
This Is Grandma's Way.
It is the taste of tradition.
It is the warmth of family.
It is the wisdom of generations.
It is the freedom to season with your heart, trust your instincts, and make every meal your own.
And most of all, it is a reminder that the best things in life are meant to be shared.
From our Villafana family to yours, thank you for letting Grandma's Way become part of your table, your traditions, and your memories.
Made with Love. Seasoned with Tradition.
